ALLOTMENTS

Alderley Edge has three Allotment sites within the Village located at:

Beech Close – a site containing 25 plots found towards the north of the village

Chorley Hall Lane – the largest of the three sites containing 44 plots and found towards the south of the village

Heyes Lane – located close to the Festival Hall containing 36 plots

Allotment gardening is hard work, but it also brings many rewards:

– providing fresh home-grown vegetables, fruit and flowers for you and your family

– meeting new people with similar interests

– enjoying a healthy outdoor life with gentle exercise

– having a quiet place to relax and unwind from the stresses of modern living

How do you apply for an allotment plot?

To apply for an allotment at the Chorley Hall Lane site you need to complete the application form, click here for Allotment Application Form and return it to the Parish Council office by hand, post, or email. We are currently managing a waiting list for plots so we will confirm receipt of your application form and contact you again when you reach the top of the list and a plot becomes available.

If you are interested in gardening at Beech Close, please email office@beechclosecommunityallotments.co.uk.

For more information about Heyes Lane Allotments please visit their website or email aeallotmentsoc@aol.com

How much does it cost?
The rent for a plot depends on size and so is varied. Rents are collected for the full year in September, and you would also need to consider additional charges such as Insurance and NsALG membership.

Taking on an allotment is a huge commitment, requiring considerable investment in time and energy but the rewards, even if just measured in fresh air and fresh produce, more than compensate for the effort. If you want to know more about taking on an allotment, visit the National Allotment Society website: www.nsalg.org.uk
