Cheshire East Council has launched a second round of consultation on its updated transport plan – a strategy to ensure the transport network in the borough is fit for the future.
The strategy shows how the council would prioritise and deliver transport improvements across the borough – it’s known as the Local Transport Plan. Feedback is now sought from the public on the updated plan.
Earlier this year, the council invited residents, businesses and stakeholders to comment on its vision and four aims for transport in the borough, which are: growing the economy, improving the health and wellbeing of our community, reducing environmental impacts and improving connections for all.
With that feedback, the council has now developed a strategy and investment framework as a way to prioritise transport improvements in future years.
All future transport projects will need to align with the outcomes of the Local Transport Plan. When the consultation closes in December, the strategy will then be finalised before being adopted in 2026.
