D-Day 80th Anniversary Big Band Tea Dance

Join us for a spectacular step back in time at the D-Day 80th Anniversary
Big Band Tea Dance, hosted by Alderley Edge Parish Council.

On this special day, we commemorate the bravery and spirit of the 1940s with an event that recaptures the essence of the era. Held at the historic Festival Hall on June 8th, this unique celebration features the vibrant sounds of the Wychcraft Big Band and a DJ spinning wartime classic hits, creating the perfect backdrop for dancing the afternoon away.

The venue will be transformed into a 1940s dance hall, complete with period-appropriate decor and ambiance. As you swing and sway to the music, take a moment to explore an exclusive area featuring recorded interviews from residents who lived through the decade. Their first hand accounts add depth and authenticity to the day’s meaning.

Plus we would love you to dress in the best 1940s attire, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed guests, so dust off those vintage outfits and shine your dancing shoes!

Admission to this event is strictly by pre-booked tickets, ensuring that all guests have reserved seating and can enjoy the included light fish and chips snack and afternoon tea.

A fully stocked bar will be available throughout the event for the purchase of drinks.

Secure your tickets early through the link or in-person at the Parish Council offices.

Don’t miss this opportunity to relive the spirit of the 1940s with us, celebrate the legacy of D-Day, and enjoy an afternoon filled with music, dance, and historical reflection.
